Frequently Asked Questions

What does the booking process look like?

We try to make the booking process as simple as possible.

  1. Enquire using our contact form.

  2. We’ll get back to you with a quote and ask to arrange a Zoom call or phone call (whichever works best for you) to talk through your wedding day. This also gives you the chance to ask us any questions you may have.

  3. After we’ve had a chat, we will send over our contract. Our contracts are all online and super easy to fill out.

  4. You sign the contract and pay the booking fee.

  5. And that’s it! You have now booked your wedding photographers. We will be in touch a month before your wedding with our questionnaire and to arrange another call before the big day.

What does a pre-wedding photoshoot look like?

The pre-wedding photoshoot is a chance for us to get to know each other and to get you more comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day. The pre-wedding shoot can be at any location of your choice and we can schedule it for soon after you book us or closer to your wedding if you would prefer. The choice is yours.

We will make the session fun and relaxed. It’s just as much about getting to know each other and discussing your wedding plans as much as it is about getting those stunning shots!

What is your photographic style?

We like to describe our photographic style as natural, documentary and laid back. We try our best to photograph as much of your day as possible, including lots of candid photos of your family and friends having a great time.

We won’t spend a lot of time posing you or telling you where to stand or what to do. We want you two to enjoy your wedding day as much as possible with your loved ones and we’ll be there in the background to capture the special moments.

What time do you start / end coverage on a wedding day?

We like to be with you in the morning for bridal / groom prep. The exact start time will depend on your ceremony time and where you are getting ready but usually we aim to be with you from around 3-4 hours before your ceremony start time.

For our standard full-day package we will be with you until about half an hour after the first dance. This usually gives us plenty of time to get lots of shots of your guests dancing and having fun in the evening. If you do want us to stay later than that, please let us know and we can include that in your quote.

Do we get both of you for the whole day?

Yes! We are both with you from start to finish.

This means that for prep we can split up and be with both of you (if you both want coverage in the morning), and if you’re getting ready at the same venue as your ceremony, one of us can get lots of details shots in the morning of your venue whilst one of us is always around for bridal (or groom) prep.

Malin will usually head to the ceremony room earlier to get lots of photos of your guests arriving, whilst James will stay to get the final pictures of you getting ready.

During the ceremony, we will always split up so that James is at the front of the ceremony room and Malin is at the back (unless any venue restrictions stop us from doing this, some churches don’t allow photographers at the front). This way you will get two different angles of your ceremony.

After the ceremony, we will both be around to get plenty of shots of your guests mingling and having fun. One of us will focus more on capturing any group pictures you may want and on your couples photoshoot.

We’ll both be around for the rest of the day to make sure that nothing is missed. Together, we will be able to get more pictures from different angles of your first dance and anything else you may have planned for the evening.

I feel really awkward in front of a camera. Will I look awkward in the pictures?

We try our best to make you both feel as comfortable as possible on the day. We won’t make you do any awkward poses or anything too staged. We will guide you through the couples portrait session but mostly we just want to get pictures of you both together, walking, laughing and having fun.

Do you send out sneak peeks?

Yes! We will send you a few pictures within 48 hours of your wedding to carry you over until you receive your full album.

How soon after the wedding can we expect to receive our photos?

The expected turnaround time for your finished gallery varies greatly depending on what time of year you are getting married. For spring weddings we expect a turnaround of no more than 4-6 weeks. If you are getting married in peak wedding season (July-October) you could expect to wait up to 12 weeks to receive your final gallery (although we try our best to have it back to you before then).

Do we need to provide a meal for you?

A hot meal is always greatly appreciated but if it’s not within your budget, don’t worry! Just let us know, so that we can make sure to bring something ourselves (we ask about food in our pre-wedding questionnaire, so just let us know there).

What if you are both ill or injured on our wedding day?

We’ve photographed / filmed over 100+ weddings and we’ve never been unable to attend a wedding ever. However, if something were to happen, we are well connected with lots of photographers who we would trust to step in on the day. We won’t leave you without a great photographer!
